Shangque is image four out of at least 12 images I want to have illustrated for "Love Between Fairy and Devil." I know, I'm crazy, but I think these will do really, really well on the Renaissance Faire Scene.  I will probably have about five or six images ready by March 1st, but I thought it may be a good thing to release these in waves, instead of 12-20 images all at once.  Sort of like a tease, I guess. Ha ha ha. I'm also planning on putting out a coloring book of all the images, which would have to be in the final wave. 

I'm aware that I am probably driving everyone crazy by having all these solo images of secondary characters first, with just one couple's image of Dongfang Qingcang and Orchid.  I admit, I'm doing that on purpose.  (Cue the angry mob).  But in all honesty, there's a lot of cool imagery that many of the secondary characters have to offer, and I want to share those first, before getting to the main event, which is more couples' images of Orchid and Dongfang Qingcang, and more solo images of Orchid and Dongfang Qingcang.  I'm pretty sure most people are really wanting the solos of Dongfang Qingcang. Especially anything that involves him being shirtless, hee hee.

But, as many of us die hard "Love Between Fairy and Devil" fans know, the supporting characters make up a huge part of the story.  Shangque is a very interesting character because his original form is the black dragon.  As a person, he is very honest, a little shy, and has a lot of integrity.  He was definitely one of the first characters I wanted to get fan art of, immediately because I liked the dragon and human duality, and I wanted to make sure that was demonstrated in this piece. I do wish they had him shifting into dragon form more often, as I found that to be a really fascinating component.  However, the show in and of itself was so good, that it doesn't really matter.

I just feel that with a fan art project like "Love Between Fairy and Devil," we can't just focus on Dongfang Qingcang and Orchid.  It would be doing the entire story a disservice.  So, even though this project is going to take me a lot longer than I had anticipated, it's going to be totally worth it.
