Latest Doll, clothing inspired by "The Great Queen 선덕," specifically the character 미실.

I've been working on a lot of different dolls, and I admit, Queen 선덕 has been at the forefront of my mind lately.  So, I'm not too thrilled that it's no longer on Viki.  I believe it is still on Youtube, but from what I remember, the timing on the subtitles is about a second or two off.  Minor detail, but man, does that bug me! And then, I got distracted for a moment, and had to go look on Youtube, see if it was still there (it was), and then I started watching, going totally off course from what I was originally planning to do, which was writing this blog.  However, I can rest easy at night knowing that "The Great Queen 선덕" does indeed still exist on Youtube. Yes!!!

In the beginning stage

So, I was working on her, and I decided to challenge myself with the hair.  I see a similar hairstyle quite a bit in the 사극 that take place in Three Kingdoms and 고려. So, I decided to try it out.  It was a little more challenging than the usual basic hairstyles that I use, but it wasn't that hard.  It does make the hair heavier, though, so if you do purchase this doll, I highly recommend getting a doll stand.

Phase 2!

She is made entirely from cloth, entirely by me.  Clothes are made by me, and they definitely took some time, but they are well worth it.  I also sewed in the yarn hair strand by strand.

Phase 3!

I put grey in her hair to show love and recognition to us older ladies out there who choose not to cover our gray because we have enough confidence to show it off instead of covering it. Plus, I feel it makes her look extra regal and wise.

I'm currently working on a new doll whose clothing is inspired by this picture.  So, stay tuned for that!
