A lot of cool stuff that stood out for me in Episodes 13-16 today. First of all, awesome martial arts choreography during the "Girl Fights." Calling these "girl fights" really doesn't do it any justice, as these women are fighting fiercely, strongly, and legitamately in a very calculating fashion. I simply lack better terminology.
It was awesome watching Chu Qiao work Yuwen Huai in Episode 13 in order to save herself prior to Yan Xun interfering.
Consort Wei's hanfu and hairpins are gorgeous. I seriously wish I knew how to make hairpins. You don't even want to know how much money I have splurged on these things. If I knew how to make them, I'm sure I would save a ton of money, and have the most decorated hair in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Chu Qiao's eyes have reached nirvana and been reborn, meaning that she is able to see things much more sharply and clearly, which has primed her for becoming a spy. Yuwen Yue is finally not being a jerk, and in fact Chu Qiao has become his weakness which has made things very dangerous for both of them. Yuwen Yue's grandfather now wants to get rid of her, and Yuwen Yue's enemies use her to lure him.
Princess Chun is miffed because Yan Xun doesn't like her back. I feel it's better that she explicitly knows he doesn't like her back, as it saves a bit of time. Her brother, however, keeps manipulating situations so that Yan Xun has to comfort her, which in the long term will most certainly comes across as him jerking her around. That is not good, especially because Princess Chun has a penchant for getting what she wants, and acting like a total primadonna when she doesn't get her way. I really don't have a good feeling about where this is going to go. Plus, women like her always get on my bad side, even if they are fictional characters.
I hate admitting this, but I think the Bliss Chamber looks beautiful in spite of it being used for really shady and sleazy reasons! The pool alone is awesome! I seriously want that pool!
Lastly, a notable quote from Yuwen Yue: "A weapon never cares about politics or feelings." Which reminds me of Dongfang Qingcang in "Love Between Fairy and Devil," when he forcibly had his emotions taken from him in order to be a powerful ruler.
