장혁 as 이방원 in 나의 나라 Artwork by The Bluedevil

Ok, raise your hand if you totally fell in love with 장혁 the super sexy, gracefully older Lord of the 사극 at some point.  I certainly did while watching 나의 나라.  Wow! Does that man know how to handle a sword and ride a horse.  His sword style is totally clean, sharp, and precise.  And his horsemanship? You can definitely tell he knows what he's doing.  Don't even get me started on where my mind is going with that, or I may have to rate this blog entry as "Adults only." ㅋㅋㅋ. And his acting skills in 나의 나라 were amazing.  This was where his talents really got to shine brightly.

I also loved him in "The Swordsman."  I found it amazing that he was playing someone who was blind, and therefore couldn't emit any emotion from his eyes, and therefore had to rely heavily on body language.  In this film, he didn't speak nearly as much as he normally does, so his body language was appropriately strong.

While I wanted to be fond of him in "Shine or Go Crazy," I just couldn't be.  I was expecting to see his acting style as 방원 being used for his character as 왕소, and it just wasn't.  That expectation came into place because I had decided to watch this after the much more dramatic "Scarlet Heart: 려" where 이준기 played the same role, so "Shine or Go Crazy" was actually very unsettling after watching "Scarlet Heart."

After watching 추노, my nickname for him was "장 hot," but I also like "장 Hunk."  Man, did he look great, and he barely wore a shirt most of the time.  What wasn't there to love about this show?!

"Deep Rooted Tree" was ok, but I felt many of the episodes dragged.  And I thought "The Merchant" was way too long.  "The Swordsman," "나의 나라," and "추노" are my favorites of 장혁 so far.  I did watch "Bloody Heart," but it didn't really stick with me, and I found my mind wandering quite a bit as I was trying to watch.  Actually, it felt a bit too formulaic, like it was liking some sort of "oomph."

Within my 장혁 Greeting Card Set, I have a set of five designs, as shown in the images above, 2 copies of each design; making a total of 10 cards per set.  Each card comes with a matching envelope with the fan art image imprinted. Greeting cards are blank inside, so you can write your own message, as you see fit.

I think of these as being great to send as your own personalized greeting card, so the person who is receiving it has a piece of your personality to keep by their side.  Something that says it is distinctly you. It's also a fun and sometimes amusing way to broadcast to the world, "Yes, I'm in love with 장혁, and I'm sharing that with you, whether you like it or not, ha ha!"  Or it's simply a great memento to send to another K-Drama fan who is just as enthusiastic as you are!
