American Perspectives: 3rd Prince vs. Feng Xi ("Twisted Fate of Love" Ep. 12)

3rd Prince is pissed that his plans to arrest Feng Xi for selling military weapons has been foiled.   In spite of his meticulous effort, no evidence of wrong doing has been found.  Although, it wouldn't be shocking if 3rd Prince's motivation for arrest is due to his jealousy of the relationship Feng Xi has with Dong Yue.  It would be a convenient means to knock Feng Xi out of the way.  

Instead of weapons being found, the cart contains gold, silver, and grain.  3rd Prince is irate!  He is sure Feng Xi has the military weapons.  He holds his sword to Feng Xi's neck.  Feng Xi questions the 3rd Prince's motives.  3rd Prince looks like he's about to lose it.

The rice merchant, who will be receiving the gold, silver, and grain, is on site with Feng Xi. 3rd prince questions the rice merchant. He confirms that Feng Xi purchased rice so he could help the people who had been affected by a recent disaster.  Feng Xi smirks at the 3rd Prince.

3rd Prince wants to know why Feng Xi and Lord Wu are sneaking around at night to assist the poor.  Wu explains it's due to Left Prime Minister not allowing refugees into the city, and that's why they had to provide their assistance covertly.

Feng Xi asks if it's against the law to help the refugees.  3rd Prince glares at him.

As 3rd Prince is leaving the Wu Residence, Dong Yue is coming in.  3rd Prince is not thrilled.  Dong Yue drops to her knees, asking for forgiveness for disrespecting his order to not come to the Wu Residence.  She begs him to spare Feng Xi.  He tells her to beg Feng Xi to spare him, and he walks away.

Feng Xi comes to her, helping her up from her knees.  She asks if he's alright.  He assures her that he's not selling military weapons for profit.  He tells her she should be happy about him being alive and well, and he inquires about the note she had Zi Yuan send him in order to save him.  She is ready to slap him, but he grabs her arm.  She is angry with him for making it seem like someone else from 3rd Prince's side intercepted it, and she walks away.

Feng Xi is indeed storing military supplies, but not necessarily for profit.  He is using them not only for a rebellion, but to vindicate his mother's family who had been wiped out in a royal purge.  Only a handful of his family remains, but they are in hiding, waiting for retribution.
