"Doggos!" 저고리 size XL complete

This particular 저고리 was made out of a repurposed and thoroughly cleaned sheet.  It caught the eye of the one woman design team at "The Flower Realm by 사극 Paradise" while making her weekly trips to the Saver's Thrift Store.  Due to the design budget being lower the past two seasons, Saver's has been a godsend.  The creativity and quality stays fresh, and the one woman design team gets to learn new ways and techniques of working with different fabrics.  Or, new patterns that she would have never considered using, such as this dog print.  

This particular 저고리  was created specifically for the "We Rock The Spectrum" craft fair at the We Rock The Spectrum Autism Center on Saturday.  The one woman design team is not only on the spectrum herself, but her son is on the severe end of the spectrum, so she is very familiar with the community.  A distinctive element that stands out about this community is that many are very creative and eccentric, adding a lot of light and new ways of thinking to the rest of the community. Because of that, more eccentric prints, such as dogs, unicorns, cats, panda bears are being used for the available 저고리  for this event.

"Doggos!" is longer in length because many people in Albuquerque are interested in 한복,  but are still afraid to wear the full outfit.  So, this piece is made to easily fit over a pair of pants, shorts, or western skirt without unintentionally showing too much skin.  Many pieces that are targeted for the American market are sold separately so those who are interested, but afraid, can try it a little bit at a time.  Because the one woman design team at "The Flower Realm by 사극 Paradise" is white, she used to be afraid, too.  However, she loved the 한복 so much that she started wearing the full outfit in 2020, everyday.  Was she terrified at first? Absolutely.  She was afraid of what people would say, and it was during the time when people were at the height of going after others for "Cultural Appropriation."  But she couldn't stay away from it, and she was pleasantly surprised that she got more compliments than insults.  Because so many people liked her designs, especially the Korean Aunties and Grandmas in Honolulu, there were many who said she should start selling them, and that's why she's doing it.

This 저고리 fits up to about a 40~42-F Bra Cup, so it is definitely plus size.  Smaller sizes can also wear it, however, it will be really baggy!

It has slits on the sides for more freedom of movement.  For those of us who are plus sized, sometimes longer length tops that aren't T-Shirts can feel constricting.  Especially after a meal, and especially during certain times of the month.  These slits allow for a little more room and space.

It opens in the back for additional freedom of movement, and to keep from feeling too constrictive.

There is a little more breast coverage than most when the panels cross over.  The one woman design team noticed (because she's a 40-DD) that most 저고리 have 1/4 to 1/4 Breast coverage.  For someone larger breasted, that just doesn't work.  Lots of unintended spillage, the 저고리 not closing all the way, lots of gap-ing.  Therefore, it's uncomfortable because the larger breasted have to add safety pins, or they are holding it closed all day, causing people to ask, "Are you ok?"  Therefore "The Flower Realm by 사극 Paradise" 저고리 are 3/4 to 3/4 breast coverage.  For anyone who is larger than an A-Cup, that is definitely a necessity!

This 저고리 has inner and outer tie closures, no buttons, no elastics.  Why? There's more flexibility in fit.  Some days you're gonna have a fat day, and some days you're gonna have a thin day.  The ties allow more flexibility for those days, allowing more longevity in your wardrobe!
