Introducing the first piece from "The Geek Girl Collection."  This is a size Large, one piece 한복 dress.  This will fit someone who wears up to a 40-DD bra size.  Materials are 100% repurposed, so there may be some blemishes.  Length is ankle length.  Sleeves are transparent, rich purple polyester.  100% handmade by me.  This will be coming from the US, and shipping is free on all orders over $75, and I do plan on selling this piece for $100.  I don't have this listed on my website yet, but I am going to make some updates next week, which would include listing this piece for sale.

Now that we have that out of the way, I'll go ahead and describe how I came up with this idea.  I enjoy going to the Thrift Store to find some really fun fabrics.  Plus, you get some of the older ladies with their huge fabric stashes that they no longer want, and there's some really good materials in there.  Such as high quality satin that seems to be harder to find in the US these days, or at least in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I came across this unicorn print fabric, and found it to be the most loud, obnoxious, and fun fabric that I happened to find that day.  Of course, I had to buy it, and I visualized what kind of 한복 could I possibly make?  I decided to go with Plus Sized this time, because it seems like all of the cute clothes are in the smaller sizes, and here in the US, we do have a pretty noticeable Geek Girl culture with women and girls of all sizes.  So I thought, "Why not try plus size?"  A big pain point for the plus sized women I serve is the difficulty in getting the 저고리 to fully cover the chest, which is also one of my pain points whenever I have ordered 저고리 from Korea, and I'm either keeping it shut with a safety pin, or holding onto the collar for dear life, hoping it doesn't pop open when I bend down, or so much as move a muscle.  And that is why I decided to make my own 한복, as my breasts do not fit in a Korean made one.  So, for my larger sizes, I make sure there is plenty of breast room, and that the fit is flattering.  A mistake many people make when creating plus size fashion is that they think they just need to go wider.  I go wider and longer, while paying attention to the placement of the ties.  Put those ties in the wrong spot, and it will look like a maternity dress!

What's with the horses? You may ask.  I used to do a lot of horse riding prior to the pandemic.  I didn't have any of my own, but I rode everyday.  By the time the pandemic came around, I was a bit burnt out, and I had shifted my interest to the Korean wave by that time.  Nonetheless, I still like horses, still enjoy seeing them, wouldn't mind going for another ride.  And I was that horse crazy girl who loved the really loud colors, and was always above and beyond excited about being at the barn.  I was in my 30's at the time, but I had fun acting like I a 12 year old who had too many pixie stix and was dropped off at the barn by her exhausted mother.

Below are some sizing charts for reference:
