Otherwise known as "Ma Zhaixing kicks Prince Bo out of her tent." I'm telling you this show is the perfect revenge show for those of us who have experienced betrayal trauma. Betrayal trauma isn't limited to sexual cheating, it also includes emotional affairs, gaslighting, etc.
So, Ma Zhaixing is struggling with letting Prince Bo go. She is confused as all hell, as he was in love with her one minute, and then he's suddenly being a jerk. Of course, she's going to wonder if it's something she's said or done. (It isn't. He just doesn't want her finding out that he assassinated her family).
When she hears he's in a trap, and might not make it out alive, of she course she does everything she can to help him.
She teams up with Princess Bao Na to find another way into the foresty battlegroud. Prince Bo was also supposed to meet Princess Bao Na for political reasons, however, they were both given different locations so Prince Bo could be assassinated. They are doing what needs to be done to help him, and it seems like they are on the right path. Not so fast.
A hidden attacker shoots his arrow at Prince Bo, and Ma Zhaixing blocks the shot, giving her a near deadly injury. Suddenly, Prince Bo cares, and he is at her bedside while she is unconscious, but he still can't admit to Ji Chong that he loves her.
While in her tent, Prince Bo and Ji Chong are arguing, Ma Zhaixing wakes up, and she promptly tells Prince Bo to leave. She just happened to hear while she was waking up, Prince Bo saying that she brought her injuries upon herself. Of course, he tries to act lovey dovey, but she stands her ground. Good for her! Because even though she still loves him, he needs to know he's not off the hook. He needs to know that "all is forgiven" can be a very complicated issue for women because as many of us know, as soon as "all is forgiven." and he thinks he's off the radar, guess what? He'll do it again.
Plus, it's good for him to have some male competition. It's great for Ma Zhaixing as it gives her options.
