American Perspectives: Prince Bo Realizes His Colossal Mistake (The Wolf Ep. 8)

In Episode 8 of "The Wolf," Ma Zhaixing is being punished by Emperor of Yang  for letting people into the Bo Manor who had criminal intentions.  Her punishment is to kneel in the ancestral temple for three days straight.  Because her leg has an old bone break on it, she can't be kneeling on it for long.

Because Prince Bo still doesn't know that Ma Zhaixing DID NOT betray him, he is attitude is: it's not his problem.  Until, that is, Ma Jing, Ma Zhaixing's cousin and personal servant, sets him straight.  She tells him about how she got her broken leg due to trying to save her precious childhood friend, Wolf Boy.  That in an attempt to stop her, one of her brother's men broke her leg, and that was why she couldn't save Wolf Boy.

And that's when Prince Bo realizes he has been an asshat the entire time.  Because really, that's how he was acting.  And that's when his suppressed feelings of longing and love for Ma Zhaixing start flooding out, and he immediately rushes to the temple to intervene. 

He really did care about her the whole time, but because he is Emperor of Yang's pawn, and his darkest emotions were exploited, he didn't get the whole story (and now he's caught in a cluster fuck).  Because he was so angry and convinced that Ma Zhaixing betrayed him, prior to Ma Jing's intervention, there was no way she could have convinced him.  Which is exactly what Emperor of Yang wanted.  As long as Prince Bo remained angry at Ma Zhaixing, he could dispose of her without remorse when she was no longer of any use to the Emperor.

With this turn of events, the dynamic between Emperor of Yang and Prince Bo is definitely going to shift.
