She is begging Empress Dowager Budashiri for mercy, but not for herself. Instead she is begging for mercy for her son and her court ladies, who would normally be executed with her in order to eliminate the problem.

Empress Dowager Budashiri and Empress Danashiri are like oil and water. They never got along from beginning to end, and it was always a power grab between the two, a competition of palace conspiracies that were always neck and neck. And in the end, one person was going to lose, but this one person, as her last request, made sure in her loss to spare the people who either had nothing to do with it, or were only involved because they had to, not because they wanted to.
