American Perspectives: 하지원 is strongest when she is a calculating and clever character. "다모" Ep.1 Response

I've only seen 하지원 in two other dramas: 기황후 and 황진이. I felt that 황진이 wasn't as well written as it could have been (I felt the story went sideways, when the real history was compelling enough that it didn't need to do that).  Because it wasn't as well written as it could have been, her character wasn't as strong. 기황후, on the other hand, she burned bright and hot like a flame.  And I'm most definitely seeing hints of that in 다모, which makes me very excited.  All they need is more hot guys, and we'll be in great shape!

I am especially enthusiastic about seeing her martial arts skills in action, which we didn't really get to see in 황진이. Because she does her own stunts, we get really great action shots, instead of really weird edits.

I seriously miss the old 사극, and as I've said before, 기황후 is my personal gold standard.  Why? We have the well written female cast and an abundance of hot guys.  What more could a woman want?
